California Emissions Credits

There are over 20 states with active ERC trading programs, and many of these states further break down their markets into local markets separated by counties. California has 35 different air districts each with their own regulations and emissions markets. Offset requirements differ with each regulatory agency but typically include a requirement to offset emissions of NOx, SOx, VOC and PM10 over a certain threshold limit determined by the nonattainment designations, and corresponding offset ratios established by the local air district.
